Rumors: Windows 9 to be announced in April 2015!

Microsoft is discussing its vision for the future of Windows way seriously. Windows 8.1 is just 2 months old but we have news that Microsoft is reportedly planning to release Windows 9 in April 2015 to be called “Threshold”. We guess the company is taking the operating system strategy too fast.

The time-gap between the major releases of operating system from Microsoft is getting smaller. For example, Windows XP was released on October 2001 and after a lengthy development process they released Windows vista on November 2006. In 2009, Windows 7 was out and the successor was released on October 2012.

Now, they planned for Windows 9 in April 2015 which is too fast than the previous releases. A number of significant changes were made on Windows 8, including the introduction of a user interface based around Microsoft’s Metro Style. This made a serious negative thought because there is no start menu. Microsoft responded quickly with Windows 8.1 update.

We didn’t get the confirmation about the upcoming version of operating system officially. But Paul Brian Thurrott is a technology blogger for windows stated in his blog about Windows 9. Microsoft has not confirmed or denied the Threshold code-name. We wonder whether it has the same architect as Windows 8 because the apps plays a major role in this era. Microsoft adopted Metro style and Windows 9 too will have Metro 2.0 style UI. Generally it will long time and difficult to catch up with the Windows Apps. Restrictions too will a huge setback for Microsoft.

If they planned to release Windows 9 in April 2015, they have to release the beta before that and get the users feedback about it. They would have started developing it and the report says this update will contain some minor improvements in UI and security. The general word “Threshold” means “the level at which one starts to feel or react to something” Microsoft has planned to react to the criticism and controversy. Let’s hope Microsoft should not disappointment us in their next release of windows operating system.
